Noah Oling
My name is Noah Oling, i am an artist, producer audio engineer, musician and experimental instrument builder. My passion for music goes back to when i was 8 and started learning the drums.
Now i am an independant artist, audio engineer and have my own studio. And working my way up to become an Audio Pioneer

How it started
When I was eight years old, I started taking drum lessons. I had always been fascinated by instruments, so my grandpa encouraged me to give it a try and I really enjoyed it. I even got my own electronic drum kit. But after a year, I lost interest in the lessons and decided to stop. A year later, however, I realized I missed it and went back to drumming lessons.
Three years later, my grandma came to me and said, “Look, there’s a keyboard for 40 euros at the supermarket!” She had seen it in the newspaper and told me about it. I bought the keyboard and started teaching myself. In the meantime, I stopped drumming again. After a while, I asked my parents if I could take piano lessons, and they agreed. I practiced a lot and had a great teacher, who told me I had a real talent for improvisation. After studying with him for two years, I switched to another teacher: Daniel Röser, a jazz specialist.
That’s when my dream began—to study jazz piano at the conservatory. After four years of hard work, I auditioned, but unfortunately, I wasn’t accepted. At that point, I was 18, had just finished high school, and was taking a gap year. I needed a backup plan.
So, I applied to the Music & Technology program at HKU Utrecht—and I got in! Now I’m in my second year, and I absolutely love it.

Experience
Musical foundation
I started my musical journey at the age of 8 with drum lessons, which gave me a strong sense of rhythm and timing. Later, I transitioned to piano and keyboard, developing a passion for harmony, improvisation, and composition.
Jazz piano studies
I studied jazz piano intensively for over 4 years under the mentorship of Daniel Röser and other teachers, focusing on improvisation, jazz harmony, and performance. This experience shaped my creativity and gave me the ability to approach music with both freedom and structure.
Self-taught producer & composer
Alongside my instrumental studies, I began producing and composing my own music, experimenting with genres and learning the technical aspects of sound design, mixing, and digital production.
Education at HKU Utrecht (Music & Technology)
Currently in my second year of the bachelor program, where I specialize in Studio Technology, Live Audio and Sound Design. The program has given me hands-on experience in recording, mixing, and working with both analog and digital studio environments.
Projects & collaborations
I have worked on various student and independent projects, including producing tracks, mixing demos, and composing original music. My focus is always on bringing out the unique identity of each project and pushing creative boundaries.

Unique Valve
What sets me apart is my strong musical background combined with technical skills. My improvisational mindset allows me to approach production in a creative, flexible way while paying close attention to detail.
I’m inspired by both the freedom of jazz and the possibilities of modern music technology. My vision is to help artists tell their story through sound, creating music that feels personal, expressive, and professional.
